Mission Statement

Over the proscenium arch of the stage of the City Auditorium, is the motto placed there in 1923, when the building was completed. It says, in Latin,

" For the Use of the People and the Glory of the City"

As our mission statement, we expand upon this motto to read

"TO SUPPORT THE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE HISTORIC SITE,
FOR THE USE OF THE PEOPLE, WHO ARE THE GLORY OF THE CITY
AND THE OWNERS OF THE CITY AUDITORIUM
."

Please be sure to read the History section by clicking on "History", above.

This is the only AFFORDABLE venue left in the city that has the versatility to serve a wide range of events, from a three ring circus to a concert by Paderewski, or Rachmaninoff. . This is our history and is still being used for graduations, concerts, hand bell festivals, live stage productions, Theatre Pipe organ, silent film programs and much more. We have a duty to the people of Colorado Springs, to ensure the continuation of the intended use of the Municipal Auditorium, which is the actual name of City Auditorium.
